Joe O’Keefe, S.J.

 

Joe O’Keefe, S.J. is a California Province Jesuit and is currently studying for his Master of Divinity degree at the Jesuit School of Theology in preparation for priestly ordination. Joe entered the Society of Jesus in 2006 and took Perpetual Vows in 2008. Joe taught U.S. Government & Politics and helped coordinate Community Service at Loyola High School in Los Angeles for several years after taking Vows. Joe’s other pastoral experiences have included hospital chaplaincy training, advocacy and organizing for the national Jesuit Social & International Ministries office, tutoring and mentoring at Dolores Mission School in East Los Angeles, and coordinating the youth group at St. Ignatius Parish in San Francisco. Prior to becoming a Jesuit, Joe earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from St. John Seminary College and a Master’s degree at Suffolk University, both in his hometown of Boston, where he worked for many years in local and state government and politics.
